Great Rhodo

Great Rhodo

There are two different types of Rhododendron, the ones that bloom in May and are bright pink/purple are Catawba Rhodos (not nativeto WV)... the Great Mountain Laurel Rhodo is the whitish/pinkish that bloom in June and this is the WV State Flower. The main way to tell the difference between the Great Mountain Laurel Rhodo and the Mountain Laurel is the leaves. The rhodos have much bigger leaves.
